Britani is back X 2

This is the way I spell my Daughters name!!
It is like Brittany but is spelled like this: I know its weird but I like it and she is called all kinds of different names and she is so quiet that I am shocked that she corrects them!!
But she has been gone to Newnan Georgia since Sunday and I sure have missed her!! So when I got off work yesterday I hauled down to get her and also got an extra...Brittany!!! That is right I have 2 girls until Sunday!!
Britani Simmons and Brittany Dalton!!
Aren't they cute?
Brittany Dalton let me take a picture of her by herself if I promised to do a part of the blog just about her!! This is my Pastors niece and she is such a sweet girl!! I have been having her at my house for about 4 years. She goes on vacations with us and well just to be honest she is just about like one of my own! Her and her sister Lisa are just precious to me!! I love them both like they were my own!!

Ok well here it is New Year's Eve and I will start my cooking for New Year's Day!
Meatloaf, Collard Greens, Black Eyed Peas, Mac and Cheese, Corn, Cake and Sweet Tea!!! And what ever else we can throw in there!! We will be eating it up on Friday cause on Monday the eating will cease!!! It is D I E T time!!! UGH...did I really say that!! Oh yes I did!!
I will get thin in 2010!!!
Not sure how I will be bringing in the New Year yet but I will take pictures where-ever and what-ever I end up doing!!
Have a great day!!

Two nights of cooking...

Well for 2 nights we have eaten at home and well last night was just left-overs! I had cooked Ham and Potato Salad and other fixings for all my guest Monday and then we had the left overs last night!! I am not much for left overs but it was so good that I decided that we would eat it and stay in! It is just too darn cold to be out and about!! Especially when I had all this good food right here in my nice warm home!!
So home is where we stayed!!!
Still no word from Justin but did hear from the Family Resource Officer through a calling post message and she said that my Marine has arrived safely in country and that they are setting up communication lines so I take it I won't be hearing from him until they get it set up!! But "No News is Good News!!!" I just keep sending letters and mailing packages!!!
So this is the Last Wednesday of the 2009!!! This year has just flown by!! I hope the next 7 months do too!!
I have had a mirror hanging over my Television for a while now...But it fell!!! It did not break!!! YAYYY!! The mirror came from my Daddy's house and My sister Barbara got it when he past away and then I got it when I moved in my house! But now her husband is gonna fix it and put it in her house!! We had gotten some Christmas Money...Thank you Peggy and Sonny!!! So I went to Kirklands and bought a new mirror to hang!!! I can't wait...it is so pretty and big!! It matches all the black frames in my house and I just know that I will love it!!! I will show you pictures when I get it hung!!!
Also have you heard of the new shoes that are put out by Reebok? They are called Easy Tones!! They are suppose to help with weight loss/toning up!!!

I really wanted some until....They cost $100.00 dollars!!!!

I don't think they would work that good!!! I think I will just spend a little extra and get back on my diet!!!
So 2010 is my year to get thin!!!!!
You all have a great day!!

I am so glad to have it fixed...I cooked dinner for him and his wife and My sister Barbara and and her husband came too! And then I had a very special guest!!! A MARINE!!!! oh no...NOT MINE!!!! My Niece is married to a Marine and he was in town for Christmas and so he came for dinner also!! I told him that if I could not get a hug from my Marine I would take a hug from him!! He just laughed...He knows how us Marine Moms are!! HA HA!!!
So another day gone and I will have to end this day with :
GO DAWGS!!!

It was a Law and Order kind of day

I started my Sunday out by going to church and really enjoyed it! I had lots of family there with me and that means alot to me!! I also had Rhonda and Kerry there and so we decided we would go grab a bite for lunch then we came home!! Still just exhausted from all the festivities!!! So I decided that I would stay home and keep a fire going in the fire place cause we still have no heat! UGH!!! But we are making it and either Sonny or Bobby will be coming this week to look at it!! I am putting it off as long as I can cause I am scared to hear the cost it will be to get it fixed!! But eventually I will have to have it fixed!! So anyways I stayed in and watched one of my favorite shows the entire day!!!
Here is the crew that was on ALL day long!! One right after another!! I have probably seen everyone of them but I still love to watch them !!

So another day down and this is another short week!! I will be cooking my New Years Day lunch but as far as anything else not much going on!! You all have a great day!!

A day of rest!

Ok so yesterday was a day I took full advantage of and really did nothing but rest!! Well I cleaned up and went to Walmart and over to my Brothers house...(Bradley left his camera yesterday!) so I had to go get it!! But for the most part it was just a very relaxing day!!

I slept in and cooked a new recipe for Breakfast!! It was yummy and will be trying it again!! We decided that we will come today after church and eat so I have some of my items cooking in the crock pot and I will do the final touches when I get in from Church! I am glad all the festivities are over and I have nothing planned for the new year except my regular lunch of Black-eyed Peas and Collard Greens!! And lots of other fixing to go with it!! And that is just something that I enjoy doing!!! So you all have a good day and just think it is 363 days until Christmas!! LOL!!!!

Christmas Day 2009

Christmas Day 2009 is done and over!!! I love Christmas...I love every part of it...cooking, shopping, decorating and being with the family! But then this year Justin was deployed and I honestly thought that my world was gonna come to an end! I have such a wonderful family and special group of friends that I am gonna make it!! I have received phone calls and talked to him on the computer and it just made my Christmas!!! Bradley and Britani really enjoyed themselves!!! They got everything they had asked for and well more if you want to know the truth!!! And well I got a sewing machine!!! So if you all want me to make you an outfit for the New year just let me know!! HA!!!! I am gonna start out with something easy and move up!! I really think that I am gonna enjoy it!! Here is a picture of Bradley and Britani getting ready to open their gifts!!!

Then we moved Christmas to Tracy's and Alex and Avery had seen their gifts under my tree and they were wanting to open them so bad!! Here they are with the big Barbies I got for them!! They really seemed to love them!!
Oh an here is my hand-made gift well one of them....I forgot to take a picture of the other one but this is the one that I worked on the longest!! A tote bag!!! I made one for Granny, Nanny, Ganky and Tracy...All different and special for each of them!! I sure hope they like it!!!
Well after this day was over and I sat down and thought about the entire day this is how I looked!! Well not really but I did have a big ol' smile on my face!!
I spent the entire day with FAMILY!!! I got to chat with Justin on the webcam right after midnight and see that sweet face and then I got to talk to him on the phone before the day was over!! What more could a mom of 1 marine and twins ask for...well except bring my son home now!! HA!! But all in all it was a great day and I did survive Christmas with Justin being deployed!!! I think I can do anything now!!!
You all have a great day!!

Christmas Eve 2009

Well first I will say that Austin had a wonderful Birthday Dinner!!
Here is a picture of all of us!!

Now we will move on the day at hand...Christmas Eve 2009!!! I can not believe that it is here!! And just about everything is done...Well except I have to go to the grocery store and do some cooking!! But that is not a big deal! I can get that done and hopefully be able to sit back and enjoy the day...We are all missing Justin but are adjusting to this deployment! I have my moments and still just don't deal with it so good but I have gotten a lot better that I was!

So, today we will cook for our gathering with My Family!!! We all gather at my church Fellowship Hall because we have a rather large family and this is a good place for us to go and have plenty of sitting room and everyone just enjoys the night! We don't have to cook a full meal it is just "Finger Foods"!!! Sometimes I like that the best!!! :) Then we will come home and A friend of mine is taking cookies to the Airport and passing out to the Soldiers that will be leaving to go to Afghanistan and I am thinking that I may go and join her! After that it is off to dream land and then wake up in the morning to get to see what Santa brings us!!

I hope that you all have a wonderful day!!

Austin Michael Parrish #11

Happy Birthday Austin!!
I can not believe that he is 11 years old today!!!
I just love this picture and I had to post it!! He is such a sweet fella!!!
This picture is a good many years old...just look at that face!!!

And still to this day he is still sweet and has that smile that melts your heart!! I hope he has a wonderful day!!

Well Jeff was out of town last night and I went to the Mall with Rhonda and Robert and got in lots of good laughs!!! Even after my choking spell at Wendy's!! I get choked very easy and I well needless to say when it happens I can't speak, I can't drink, and I can't cough...I just have to let it work its way down and then I get left with this stuck feeling in my throat for a little while after sometimes even can still feel the effects the next day!! I have always gotten choked easily and I do not have any health problems!! Just one of those things...some of my other family members have the same issue. So maybe it is inherited!!

But anyways you all have a great day!!!

How did I ever agree to this...

Yes I know this is not me but this is how I felt last night!! I really was questioning myself on why did I ever agree to this!! And what I am referring to is, on Christmas morning Ganky, Tracy, Granny, Nanny and Myself don't buy for each other we usually give our favorite things for our gift! But this year, we decided to give homemade gifts!! And I am just not a crafty person and I have absolutely NO talent as far as this stuff!!!!!! I can cook all day long but 2 of my sisters are diabetic and I just didn't want to temp them with anything that would be anymore danger to their health!! And NO I am not gonna tell what I have made but I am SO glad that its done!!! I honestly wanted to just pull out my hair!! Now I just have to worry if they will like it or not!!

Every person is different when it comes to deployments, but this is the advice that I give to those going through their first deployments. It's worked for us during both of my husband's deployments to Iraq. It's never easy, but you can do it with God's help. The Lord will ultimately give you the strength and comfort that you need to get through this deployment.

1) Pray - protect your Marine with a bubble of prayer. He will feel the prayers.

2) Keep living - do not do daily countdowns at this point in time as it is usually counter productive, and this far out, the days aren't exact. Instead, count down month to month until you get closer to the end date. Make sure you have activities to look forward to at least once per month. Do not sit around the computer waiting for contact with him (unless you have a set time when you know he will be on the computer). Keep your cell phone on you, but do not turn down activities just because he "might" call.

3) Schedule Time - give yourself XX minutes to cry each day (if needed). Once you are done with that time period, you need to stop and think positively. If you start to feel down, do something that lifts you up (and pray). Have some projects that will make you focus on others and not yourself.

4) Mail - keep those packages & mail going to them. Mail is a huge moral booster. Try to keep mail upbeat whenever possible. Do not expect to receive mail back from him. He needs to focus on his job there. He'll do his best to stay in contact, but it's not always easy.

5) Encouragement - be a source of encouragement for him. First deployments are hard. He will probably get down at some point. He will get homesick, and he will get discouraged. The best thing you can do is stay upbeat and give him the encouragement that he needs. Let him know that you love him, you are proud of him, and you're praying for him.

I recieved this from a blogger friend that her husband is in the USMC and I appreciate it a lot! I will take all the help I can get. One thing I have learned in the past 18 months that Marines and their families stick together!! And they help each other all the time!!

Oh and by the way...I just got off the phone with Justin!! He is good and been busy...which Justin loves and is now where he can call some!! Yipeee...Today is a GREAT day!!!!

You all have a great day!!!

And there was born this day....

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

Well it was a busy day!!! On Friday I got a phone call that the lady that was in charge of the Christmas Program has decided that she just could not do it!! SOOO guess who got out in charge of it....ME!!!!! Well I threw a little something together and it turned out pretty good!!! Robert and Britani was Mary and Joseph!!! They were so funny!!! So anyways....A busy day and it keeps my mind off just all the wondering!!! So....can you believe that it is the week of Christmas! Wow...Is everyone ready? I am done and just about got everything wrapped!

You all have a great day!!

Buckeye candy, pringles potato chips candy, rocky road candy, mounds candy and red velvet cake balls!!! I am just give out!! But we had so much fun!!!! Then during the candy making Britani came into the kitchen and said "Justin is online"!! And we all dropped what we were doing and into the living room we went!! Chatted with Justin for a bit and got so good laughs and got to see him smile a bunch!!! So sorry about no pictures but I just forgot!!!!!!

This is my brother Marshall!! I know that you all hear alot about my sisters but I have 2 brothers! We get together every year to celebrate his birthday and we really enjoy it!! It is something that I look forward to each year!! Even this year with everything going on I was looking forward to it!! This is a picture of his 3 girls (L-R)

These girls are just great!
They pull together and cook for us to come for dinner and the food was wonderful!!
Here is another sibling picture:
Theresa, Marshall, Brenda, Barbara and Me!!
Missing Leon!!

Well everything always works out!! I was so dreading the final phone call from Justin!! But we just happen to still be a the party and got the call from him and yes it broke my heart and yes I had to shed a few tears and had to go get a quick squeeze from Ganky! But, it really helped being with family when it happened!! They got me right back into a smile and got my mind off of things!!

So starting today we will begin a countdown!!!

I have a headache from crying and my face is puffy!! I really did good and held it together this weekend but now I am one big fat MESS!! I love this Marine soooo much!!

"He is my whole world and I love him so very much!!!"

Back at Home...

Well here I am back at home and I can say that we had a wonderful weekend trip!! Justin is such a joy to be around and he makes me smile all the time!! I took several pictures that I wanted to show....the first one here is Justin all snuggled up with his Georgia snuggie!!! He loves this and he actually gets to take it with him!!! I am so glad that they allow them to take so many things from home!!

This was a cute sight this morning both of the boys each on a laptop!! They were playing a game and I thought it was cute of them laying there both doing the same thing!! They are really close and Bradley is really gonna miss his brother!! But Justin is letting him drive his car while he is gone!! But Bradley is still not accepting things as good as I would like for him too!! But we will all just keep praying for him!!

And well Britani is just enjoying the fact that she got the entire back seat to herself!! She likes to sleep late and of course with not having too much time this weekend we did NOT do any late sleeping!! So she was just doing a little rest time and of course the cell phone is close by for the texting time!!

We have decided that we will being doing a countdown until Justin comes back! We are gonna be working on that even though we don't know an exact date we are going to estimate!! He doesn't actually leave until Wednesday early morning so the count-down will start then!!
You all have a great day!!

A Special Day

Wow...A day full of Marines!!! We started out with a trip onto Camp Lejeune, which I found out today is actually to be pronounced Lejurn. But which ever way you say it, that place is just neat!! I love to go to the MCX and see all the Marine Corp stuff!! I did manage to get the 3 of my children to stand still long enough to get a quick picture!! We had a really good day!!
So here are my two Marines that have been together since bootcamp and will be deployed together!! They just are so much fun to be around and really make you not think about the fact that they are leaving in just a couple of days!! I did meet one of Justins squad leaders and this is his 3rd deployment and he really made me feel much better about all this! He explained that they have satellite phones and they let them use them most of the time once a week!!! And that it is not that bad over and that they will only be gone 7 months since they are sending so many troops over!! :) I can do 7 months!!! :)

Here is a picture of Nick and His Parents!! Debbie and Jeff!!

And here are the 4 kids we had to entertain us this weekend!! Look how happy they all are!!

Well this was just a great weekend but as most say all good things must come to an end!! I will be heading home today!!! And today is a very special day!! It is someones Birthday....

Happy Birthday to you

Happy Birthday to you

Happy Birthday to Traaaccyy

But he is just as precious today as he was last week!! And he will be even more precious when he gets back!!! I gave hugs and hugs and hugs and told him they were from everyone from back home!!! I even got a few kisses in for you all!!!! And I didn't even mind giving him all those hugs and kiss!!!

Well it is late and I am gonna go get some rest!!! I will enjoy my time with Justin and cherish every moment I have with him this weekend!!!

Camp Lejeune....

Here we come!!! Yes that it right...We are heading to Jacksonville North Carolina to see Justin one more time before he leaves!! We all had to promise to try to keep our emotions on a happy level...well as much as I can!! He knows that it is impossible for us to leave and not be a little emotional. But we will all do the best that we can!! I can't wait to see his happy face!!!

Now on a more silly note: Yesterday, I was working at Tracy's and I had sent her a text asking about some candy that someone had given me that was expired and was asking if she thought it would make us sick...already eaten a piece!! So she text me back and said " No. If it was gobbas make you sick then it would have already" GOBBAS??? so I text back and said " I am gobbas throw it away anyways!!" Then she responded to me are you a turkey...she did not realize that she had sent it to me first like that!! LOL!! (gobbas=gonnas)

So a little later She sent me another text that read: I got Moxie Avery and Lexa Dolls! So then my reponse to her was..."Are you drinking while you are shopping? ...Your spelling is BAD!!!" Then I got a phone call...Moxie and Lexa are Dolls that she got for the girls!!! I have teenagers I had never heard of them I thought she got Movies for Avery and Alex Dolls!!! Does anyone out there see where I was so confused yesterday? She and I thought each other had became drinkers during all of this deployment stuff!!! But we aren't we just get a little confused sometimes...So funny!!! I am glad that we can laugh at some of the stuff we do!!!

Ok well...Going to see my Marine today and I will have pictures for you tomorrow!!! Have a great day!!

Let's kick deployments butt one day at a time!!!!

How Do I...

How do I hold myself together when I had to say a farewell to 2 people that mean so much to me? Ms. Louise Wilkins: A very special lady at my church that I grew up under. She was more than just a friend she helped keep me in line once my Mama had passed away! We spent countless hours going to the beauty shop to get her hair done each week...before I went to work with Tracy! She was loved by so many and will be missed dearly!!

And then as soon as the funeral was over I had to tell My Marine to go and be safe and fight for his country and to make us all even more PROUD than what we all already are! He is so handsome and he is my whole world and I love him so very much!! I AM PROUD of HIM...He is a good guy and he loves me so much! He loves his family more than any 20 year I have ever seen!! And you could tell yesterday as he was getting ready to leave that his family loves him TOO!!

You all have a great day and please keep Justin and the Wilkins Family in your prayers!! My face is puffy from shedding so many tears yesterday so today we will try NOT to be crying and doing LOTS of smiling!!!

Christmas Morning 2009

Yes I know it is not yet Christmas, but since Justin will be leaving and will not be able to be with us, we decided to go ahead and have Christmas with him!! If by some chance he happens to be at home then that will be the perfect Christmas for all of us!!

Tracy and the kids came over Friday night because they had other plans and was not gonna be able to make it for breakfast and brought him this!!

He decided to check out his computer while I cooked Breakfast!!

Here comes Ganky and Pa...Ganky stayed for breakfast but Pa just came by to see Justin for a minute and wish him a safe return!!

What is Ganky doing....Oh hugging her Marine!!!

And now they are posing for a picture...never can have to many pictures made with this Marine!!

Even Pa got him a picture made with him!!!

He may be a Marine and 20 years old but he still loves seeing what Santa brought!

Christmas Morning 2009 with Justin was great!! Now I have to send him back and not know when I will get to see him again!!! He is not sure when he will be leaving but we know he will be gone in the next 2 weeks!! :( Please just keep him in your prayers and pray that I can keep my nerves together!!! This has kept me in tears and I get such a headache from crying!! :( Also Pray for the Family of Ms. Louise...we will be having her funeral today! Speaking from experience...this will be one of the hardest days of their lives!!

I hope that you all have a Special Sunday!!

~Till Tomorrow~
