What a day!!!

Well our day started out stopping by the post office and sent off the Valentine package for Justin and then on to Social Circle High School to wrestle in the Redskin Rumble!! Bradley is almost finished with his 5th year of wrestling and he has struggled with his weight a couple of times but now has settled down and he is wrestling away!!! So here are a few pictures of the day!! It is hard to take picture they move so quick and then I am yelling at him to do a better move!! haha!!

Then after a day of wrestling we went home for a bit and then off to Karaoke with Kerry and Rhonda and all the kids!! Bradley and Robert were just full of it and sang their little hearts out!!

They are really good!!

So now I am off to church and hopefully hear from my Marine!!

Valentines for Justin

Another package packed and ready to go!! I loaded him down with all kinds of Valentines stuff!! This picture is not what I put in his box...But I did put a good bit of stuff in it and I sure hope he enjoys it!! I have to go ahead and get it in the mail, because it seems to take about 2 weeks for him to get the packages!! So off to the post office I go!!

He gets lots of packages I know and I am sure that he get pleasure in all the goofy stuff I send!! But I just want him to have as much stuff as he would have if he was home!! I love to hear him say...I got your package today!! He seems so excited!!

Still nothing from him but "NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS!!"

I have a wrestling tournament all day today with Bradley!!

FRO...

FRO...Family Resource Officer!!

And when her name shows upon the phone...well lets just say I panic!

Yesterday the phone rang and well it was a recording from her!!

1/6 has had several casualties and the families have been notified so they were informing the rest of us!! I so badly want to hear from Justin!!! I wonder what he saw and how he is??

So I pray that my phone will ring and it will be this sweet fella!!

He has packages on the way and we got stuff to pack up and send!! I hope that everyone has a good day and please pray for those families!!

DOG!!!

I so was not interested in the President speech so we decided to watch this:

It was pretty good!! I think we found a new show to watch!!

Not alot going on here yesterday! I worked Jeff cleaned house and the twins went to school and well still nothing from Justin in about 5 days!! I hopefully will here from him soon...I know he is doing his job and just as soon as he get to where he can he WILL call his mama!! Ok well off for a day of work and then to make Strawberry Cupcakes to send to Justin with Ganky and Tracy this afternoon!! So you all have a good day!!

Hat day!!

Ok, so yesterday when I went to pick the girls up at school they told me it was gonna be hat day tomorrow(today)!! So Alex quickly said we need to go get me one!! And she said I think Target has them!! SO off we went!!

But then Alex said they need to be silly hats...So we got to the kitchen table and made these hats!! Not sure which one they will wear today but either way they have a hat!! :)

And I tell you they are precious in which ever one they do wear!!! We had fun...they love crafts!! Alex said "Cindy...Can you make sure you get all the cleaning done before we get home from school so we can do this every day!!" So I told her I would try!! We did have fun but can't do much cleaning while scissors and glue and little tiny pieces are laying out so I guess I will be cleaning quickly in the mornings so that we can do a craft several afternoons a week!!

Saving $...Coupons

As most everyone knows this is my favorite grocery store!!! I just know where everything is and I am comfortable shopping there!!

And for the most part I have never been a full coupon shopper...I would use one here and there but never for every shopping trip! But for the past couple of weeks I have been getting a Sunday paper and cutting coupons and then I sat down this past Sunday and went through them and figured out which ones I could use!! And I made my grocery list!! I wanted to shop for 2 weeks because not only do I have to shop for myself but I also do the grocery shopping for Tracy and thought if I only had to go every two weeks for me that would be great!! So off Jeff and I went last night with all my coupons!!

So the results are this....

2 weeks of groceries

Total : $250.54

Kroger Plus Card : $61.26

Coupons : $24.80

Final Total : $164.48

$82.24 per week

Total Savings $86.06

Yayyy Me!!!

So now for a couple of weeks I will save up coupons again and then go grocery shopping for that 2 weeks and see how I do!! I think that it was so worth me cutting out those coupons!!

Rain...Rain and more Rain!!!

It was just a Rainy Sunday!! I felt like instead of my Sunday shoes I needed these rain boots!!

And then when I got home from church and tried to take out my dog he definitely would not go out like this little dog...not even with an umbrella!!! He was so scared he would not get away from me for one second!! I feel so bad for him when it rains!! He really needs medication!!

So anyways it was just a BLAH kind of day...

I hope today is a better day for me and I hope that you all have a good day too!

Pound Cake is Done!!!

So here we go... I got 12 half pint jars and got them washed and ready!

I set the oven on 350 degrees!!

We mixed up the pound cake...Leah's Recipe!! And you can use any recipe...even make brownies or cornbread or anything like that!! Neat huh?

and put the jars on a cookie sheet and sprayed them with pam baking spray...

in goes the cake mixture!!! :)

And about 30 minutes later I have pound cake in a jar to send to my Marine!! I would love to see his face when he gets home-made pound cake!! I can't wait to hear what he has to say about this!!

Boiled the lids and sealed these babies up!!! I did open one of them just to see if it tasted like pound cake and sure enough.....IT DID!!!

So a very successful day of make pound-cake for care packages!!! My Marine is gonna be so happy!!!!

Pound Cake in Mason Jars??

This is my friend Leah!! Her son is in the Navy and is also now deployed!!

We are gonna work on care package pound cakes today!!!

She says we will take a regular pound cake recipe...

and put it in these half pint mason jars!!!

I can not wait to see how these turn out and send some of them to Justin!! We are wanting to do his favorite pink cupcakes too but this is my learning experience and then we will try the pink cupcakes for him!! I hope that he likes it!

I know he will be okay!!

Dear God,

Tonight I ask as a mother to bless my children as I do every night, but now I am reminding you I have a special child. This child helps to provide a blanket of protection we as Americans slumber under each night. He has decided to give his life to protect this great country of ours, and before now there was always prayer for you to watch over this child but after the terror that has struck our U.S. soil, I feel even stronger, more pleading as I pray to you. This child loves God and country and has sworn to protect her inhabitants. But, this is STILL MY CHILD who I have sworn to protect with MY life until the day I die. Now I need your help more than ever. He is no longer in my reach, and can only be reached by your hand to protect him. He may be on the oceans, above the earth or in lands foreign and hostile to him, please God, keep him safe and bring him home to me alive. Let us find peace and keep these special children alive and safe to teach future generations how important life is and how important it is to protect it. They are a rare breed, and we are the mothers who have helped to raise them. Now we are the mothers who ask for your help to protect them. Please bless all the mothers children of the world, but please remember I am a military mother and am asking you to take special care of my special child.

As I lay my head down tonight...I know that for about 12 days I will not be hearing from Justin!! :( I knew that this day would come but it doesn't mean I have to like it!! But now my Dear Friends....The serious praying begins!!! But I have to go back to "NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS!!!"

Cast off P-A-R-T-Y!!!!!

Well the Cast is off and so we just had to celebrate!!

Back in November Little Alexis fell out of a buggy and broke her leg and has been in a half body cast since then!!!

In this picture is Alexis and her memaw!!

Alexis is so happy to have the cast off...But she is still so scared of falling and she is still not walking on it!! She is gonna have to get her confidence built back up!! I would love for all of us to bind together and pray for her that she will be back up and walking SOON!!!
Soooo, for our cast off party we went to see The Princess and the Frog!! Cute movie...we had the entire movie to our self and we had a blast!!!

What a wonderful day it was...That is one special little girl to me!! I hope that your day was good and today will be even better!!

Mail Box for all my letters!

Well for a while now we have had a mail box that the door was broken off and sometimes it would rain and my mail would get wet!! But now that I am getting letters from Justin I DO NOT want them to get wet!!! Well now that Jeff is not working we have worked out a few things that need to be done and this was the first thing on the list!! They painted the post...

and put up a nice new mail box!!!! Didn't Bradley and Jeff do a wonderful job? I think so and I am so excited to get my letters from Justin!!!
And look at this cute little Apron that Jeff got for Christmas from Tracy!!! He cooked out on the grill for the first time because the weather was absolutely beautiful!!! I wish it would stay like this forever!! But I know that sometimes it has to rain and sometimes it has to snow, but I do love this weather!!!

Simple Sunday

It was just a simple Sunday!! Up early...phone call from my Marine!! :)

Got dressed up and off we went for a Sunday of Blessings!!

He is such a blessing and can really do some preaching!!

Well after morning sevice we went to get Jeff a new cell phone and then back to church! We had a visiting Preacher...Alan Burns and he was GREAT!! I love to hear him preach!! Sooo, that was about it for my day...Got fill up at the church house and ready for a wonderful week!!

Say Cheese!!

I had a good bit going yesterday but the best part was I woke up to Justins voice again this morning!! I had a lot of cooking to do we had a Jubilee at church and Jeff and I are the events coordinator and so I was in charge of the food!! I got all of it done and quickly got all fixed up so to be ready to go, because Justin was suppose to be on web-cam and then I was gonna have to leave quickly, so while waiting on him I figured out that my web-cam takes pictures!! Oh and I had a blast...I took probably 25 pictures of myself!! Here are a couple:

It was just fun playing with the camera!! Justin never made it to the web-cam so I had to leave and get my stuff ready for the Jubilee!!! And while there....He called me!! I know I am so blessed to hear from him so much and there will be times during this deployment that I may not hear from him for day/weeks so for now I will just hold on to every chat, phone call or message I may get!

The People we meet!!

About one year ago I started doing this blog and it was just something my niece started doing and I joined in...if nothing else it is a really good way to document the things that happen in my life on a daily basis! And a lot of my followers are my very own family and some are friends that I met through the USMC and then some I met through others blogs!!! I always enjoy a new visitor and meeting up with new people and especially those that go through some of the same things that I go through!! I have recently met two new blogging friends that I am following and they both are helping more than they will ever know!

In some way they are helping through this time of my life!! So many are deployed...going to be deployed...have been deployed and some stationed far away from home!!

Well yesterday was full of conversation...Justin had lots of free time and was bound and determined he was gonna chat with me...I woke up to Good Morning Mother (4:21 am)!! I was so excited I really didn't care!! I then got off the phone and well then he was on the computer to chat and then when I got home...he was on the computer again!! I love it!! I so enjoyed chatting with him! He is so thoughtful to call me and chat with me and listen to all my crazy non-sense!! But anyways it made me have a most wonderful day!!

A letter on a Beautiful Day!!

Oh yes...Can you see that...A real Letter!! I was so very excited!! I have talked to him several times since he mailed it but still those hand written letters are just priceless!! I cried and cried and cried!!

And here is the letter...He is so sweet and I love him so much and I will keep this letter just like I did all of his bootcamp letters!!
And would you look at this....it is SUNSHINE!!!!


And we even got outside to play for a bit!!! Look how precious these two are!!! They surely enjoyed their time outside!!

Won't you be my neighbor?

Well I am getting a new neighbor!! Seleena Freeman...I went to school with her and she had a baby by my cousin and now we are gonna be neighbors!! Well not next door but she is moving in up the street and I am so excited!!

I had went and got my oil changed yesterday and my car has a pulley loose and so now I have to deal with that...but thankfully it is under warranty! I also went and mailed Justin a package...He was online yesterday and I missed him, but he left me a message and said that one of his friends has not gotten a package and if I could mail him one it would mean the world to him!! So Ganky, Tracy and myself all pulled together and I went and mailed him a package too!! So now his friend will get a good size box filled up and it was sent out the same day as it was asked for!! Poor fella!! I love my son, and I can not imagine sending my son a package...they have been gone almost a month!! :( But that's one down and six more to go!!! :)

They were crushed!

Bradley and Britani have been saving cans for MONTHS!!! They have been crushing cans for weeks and even in the low temps they have been still crushing a few cans a day!! Look how excited they look know they were fixing to make some money!!

And they had AL OT of cans!!!

It almost filled up the wagon that I got from my dad!

And so they took them to the scrap-yard!! And well when they called and said they were on their way home...I asked (excited) "So how much did you make?" . Knowing they had A LOT of cans I thought they would say about $50.00.....But Britani's response was "A crappy $29.00!" I felt bad for them!! They were CRUSHED!!!! So not only were the cans but so were my twins!!! But I told them that it was more than they had when they got up this morning!! So needless to say we are NOT saving cans anymore!!

Sunday...Santas

It was just a normal Sunday...Up early dressed and off to church I went! I had made box for all the people at church to put stuff in if they wanted to donate to Justin's Care Packages!! I was of course running late and Ms. Louise's son John called me over to his truck!! Ms. Louise past away just a few weeks ago and he said he had something for me!! I have always been really close to this family and was honored with anything that they may want me to have that was hers!! She was a very special lady to me!!! SO, He handed me this box of Santas!! He said that he knew how much I enjoyed Christmas and so did his mama and the family wanted me to have her Santas around the world collection!! I am so honored!!

I could not wait to get home and get them all set out and look at them!! I love them and will cherish them forever!!!

The temps are still cold and I am really tired of it...but I have to just bundle up and deal with it! I hope that you all have a wonderful day!!
